Flona
Of the walks in and around Kalvåg, the one to Flona immerses you in a magnificent world of the senses, where islets and skerries as far as the eye can see and waves breaking from the sea come together to create a virtual paradise. Perhaps you will catch sight of a sea eagle?

Kjerringhalsen
If you take the walk to Kjerringhalsen Lighthouse, you can see towards Mulehaudet and enjoy the unique sight of nesting eagles. This is an exciting walk where you are protected by iron railings. At Småvågane, where the trail changes from path to narrow tracks, there is an old grave dating from the age of migration around 400 AD, surrounded by nine stone statues.

Fanneskarvarden
The walk takes you through woods to treeless mountains. It has some steep parts, but with good going underfoot for children and adults. Fanneskarvarden is the highest point on the island at 378 metres above sea level.

Bontelabo-Storehovden
The trail is currently under construction but you can still walk along it. It goes across Flona to Storehovden.

Hornelen
Hornelen is Europe’s highest sea cliff, standing at 860 metres above sea level. The walk takes 3-5 hours one way. Take the path from the end of the road at Hunskår or Berleneset. This is a walk for those who are after an experience with a little extra. The view from the top of Hornelen is fantastic. There is also a little stone hut at the top. It is possible to join an organised guided walk to Hornelen.
